Local Talent Performs for Sheffield Shoppers - 08/12/2007 10:00:00
Choirs, operatic societies, singers and harmony clubs have been given the opportunity to perform for shoppers in the city of Sheffield at Christmas.
Orchard Square Shopping Centre has invited local groups to perform and have the cities shoppers as their audience on Saturday 8th & 15th December. This Christmas whilst raising money for good causes, Christmas carols and festive music will fill the air in Orchard Square creating a traditional shopping environment whilst shoppers are looking to cross everything off their list.
Sheffield’s Bach Society, Teacher’s Choir, Escafeld Chorale, Sterndale Singers, Operatic Society, Locksley Silver Band and The Chorus of Sheffield’s Barbershop Harmony Club will all be performing over the two weekends in December hoping to make Christmas shopping all the more enjoyable this year by adding a festive feel to the whole experience.
“There is nothing like listening to Christmas carols and festive music whilst shopping. For us to be able to offer a platform for local groups to perform and gain local recognition, it seemed the perfect partnership! Shoppers can then enjoy getting wrapped up, twinkling Christmas lights and song to warm the cockles of their heart – all in all traditional Christmas shopping,” said Ken Hetherington, Orchard Square Centre Manager.
So come down and support local talent this year whilst enjoying a traditional Christmas shopping experience.
